Welcome to Ms. McEntee's web page.

Speech and Language Pathologist and School Social Worker
at Captain Isaac Paine School.
I have been the Speech and Language Pathologist at CIP since the fall of 2006, and the School Social Worker since 2009.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science/Secondary Education, a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology,
and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.
During my career I have worked in just about every setting from residential programs, vocational programs, middle schools and high school. I enjoy working with all ages from birth through adult.

I hold certification from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and am certified in both Rhode Island and Connecticut.  I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
Additionally, I am licensed by the Department of Health as a Speech-Language Pathologist (RI and CT) and as a Clinical Social Worker (RI). I hold a certificate in Drug and Alcohol Counseling, and I am  a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
I am also a nationally certified (RID) and state licensed (RI) interpreter for the Deaf.

In addition to serving at CIP, I have been an adjunct at Rhode Island College for many years in the Communication Department, and now in the Department of Modern Languages.  I have taught several courses in the Speech and Hearing Sciences concentration, as well as American Sign Language.  I also serve as an interpreter and consult to various agencies around the state and region.

I enjoy working in education and being able to not only work with children at CIP, but work with future educators and therapists at RIC.

                                                                                               Signs of Appreciation

There are times when parents and/or families want to recognize or thank teachers and others.  This often happens at the holidays or at the end of the year.  My request is that instead of going to the expense and trouble of doing that, make a card.  If you feel the need, make a contribution to your favorite charity. While I appreciate your thoughtfulness there are other ways to pay it forward.
